Histoplasmosis is a fungal infection is caused by the dimorphic fungus Histoplasma capsulatum. In the immunocompromised host, a disseminated form of the disease can be frequent. We provide a case of disseminated histoplasmosis in an immunocompetent young person, emphasising the significance of maintaining a high index of suspicion even in immunocompetent people, particularly in developing countries like India.
